While in Town
Calaway Park is Western Canada's largest outdoor family amusement park, featuring rides, games, show, events and more. The park is located in Springbank, Rocky View County, Alberta, 10 kilometres west of the city of Calgary on the Trans-Canada Highway.
The Calgary Zoo is located in Bridgeland, Calgary, Alberta, just east of the city's downtown and adjacent to the Inglewood and East Village neighborhoods. Highlights of the zoo include the Penguin Plunge, the Prehistoric Park, Canadian Wilds and the conservatory and gardens.
Heritage Park Historical Village
Heritage Park Historical Village first opened its gates on July 1, 1964. Throughout the year, guests have the opportunity to interact with nearly 100 years of history. Heritage Park’s exhibits span the early 1860s fur trade to the petroleum and automobile-dominated 1950s. The Park’s mission is to preserve the history of the early West and to educate and entertain guests of all ages for many generations to come.
Devonian Gardens, located in the downtown Core Shopping Centre, features 10,000 shrubs, 1.5 million pounds of soil and trees used to re-create this “urban oasis.” It is Calgary's only indoor public park, and it features walkways with water fountains, over tree-decked plazas and ponds teaming with fish. There is also a "living wall" within the Gardens. Children can enjoy the indoor playground or take part in various drop-in programs.
Located 191 metres above the downtown core, the Calgary Tower offers the best view in the city and is a must-see on any visitor's itinerary. On the observation deck, you'll experience a spectacular 360° view of the bustling city, the majestic Rocky Mountains, the foothills, and the prairies.
Fort Calgary — Calgary's only national, provincial and municipal historic site— is located on 40 acres of parkland on the eastern edge of downtown Calgary. Discover the colorful stories of Calgary’s past from 1875 - 1914 at the Interpretive Centre. Experience both sides of the law while wearing an authentic RCMP uniform or spend some time in the jail. Take a short walk across the Elbow River to The Deane House — currently under renovation — the historic home of the NWMP Captain Richard Deane.
AT THE SHOW, SHOULD YOU BE SEPARATED FROM YOUR CHILD… go to the LOST PARENTS ZONE under the yellow Show Info tent, just inside the entrance to the show.
Every effort is made to ensure the safety of all attendees while visiting the LEGO KidsFest. In the unlikely event that you are separated from your parent or child while at the show, please follow these quick and easy steps:
1. Immediately come to the LOST PARENTS MEETING SPOT sign next to the yellow SHOW INFO tent by the main entrance.
2. Give the staff member at the SHOW INFO TENT a description of the missing person, what they are wearing, and where he or she was last seen. Safety tip: Take a head-to-toe picture of your loved one(s) with your digital camera or phone as soon as you arrive at LEGO KidsFest so we may more easily identify him/her in the outfit they are wearing.
3. Remain with the staff member at the LOST PARENTS MEETING SPOT until building security reunites you with your loved one!
In addition (for kids too young to remember your cell phone number), before coming to LEGO KidsFest, write YOUR name (not your child's name) and cell phone number on a piece of paper and place it in your child's pocket (or in their shoe if they don't have pockets).
Alternatively, you can also obtain one of our LOST PARENT Contact Cards at the SHOW INFO TENT after the show begins. Put YOUR name and cell phone number on the card, then place it in your child's pocket or shoe.
When your child arrives at the LOST PARENTS ZONE, we'll reunite you that much quicker!
